About

Join us for a hands-on Cursor Hackathon in Downtown Vancouver! Theme: Build Canada Canada has the energy, the talent, and the resources — but we've been slow to build the automation layer that turns potential into independence. We're prioritizing solutions in energy, AI infrastructure, supply chains, and anything else that makes Canada more self-reliant. Things like: Web Apps, e.g., a tool that helps small Canadian businesses find local suppliers instead of defaulting to US imports AI Agents, e.g., an AI assistant that navigates Canadian government forms and permitting processes Data & ML, e.g., a demand forecasting tool for Canadian energy grids AI Assistants, e.g., a bilingual (EN/FR) customer service agent built for Canadian businesses Hackathon Rules Prize: 🥇$1K Cursor Credits Bring your laptop with Cursor downloaded and pick one of the following tracks to participate: Demos will be evaluated by Impact, execution, presentation, and design. We will provide free Cursor credits for your build. Team Size: 2-5 People. You can come as a team or a solo hacker, but you must form a team of at least 2 people to participate. Submissions: No pre-built projects. Pitch: 3 min pitch to judges, 1min Q&A In Person Participants Only Agenda 09:00 AM: Registration & Team Formation (Teams of 2-5) 09:45 AM: Opening Speech & Challenge Briefs 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM: Hacking Period (Lunch included) 04:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Judging Begins (Top POC selection) 05:30 PM: Top POC Demos 06:30 PM: Winners Announced & Networking 📍 RSVP for location (near the Burrard Skytrain station) Organizers Althra is writing cheques alongside its accelerator to back an underserved founder talent pool across Canada.
