Chronic traffic congestion in a city of over 14 million people continues to affect economic activity, productivity, and quality of life — and the problem is only growing.

CCTV cameras are deployed across the city to monitor density, congestion, violations and safety concerns like helmet usage, but most analysis still depends on manual review, limiting speed, accuracy and scale. Gridlock 2.0 is Flipkart's call to India's problem-solvers to design AI models that classify congestion, detect violations, identify movement patterns, and support smarter mobility decisions, built on real data, not simulations.
